Getting Married in the Parish of Trellech & Penallt
Those who are eligible to be married in the parish church
A full list of the regulations relating to who may or may not have the right to be married in the parish church can be found on the Church in Wales web site but here is a list of the usual reasons of eligibility.
•If one of the couple live in the parish
•If one of the couple live outside the parish but are a regular communicant in the church and/or on the church electoral roll.
•If one of the couple were baptised / confirmed in the church
•If parents or grandparents are buried in the churchyard.
•If you meet one of the other qualifying connections to the parish as listed on the Church in Wales web site.
If you do not meet any of the above usual criteria then do speak personally to the Vicar and we can check the other qualifying connection possibilities.
Wedding fees 2017
Church service £245 (payable to The Parish of Trellech and Penallt)
Ministers Fee ( £185payable to Rev S J Howells)
Verger (£20 payable to )
Organist (£80payable to )
NB. Organist fee is doubled if service is video recorded.
Additional fee: £120 Trellech Bell ringers (cash if possible)
A video requires prior arrangement; a copyright certificate, and the organist fees doubled in accordance with the recommended costs listed by the Church Music Society.
The cost of the wedding in the church includes leaving at least two pedestals of flowers, one at the chancel arch and one at the altar.
All fees are payable by cash or cheque which can be sent to the Vicarage with the banns certificate when ready, or at the rehearsal.
