Our two ancient Churches have long histories and very interesting graveyards and memorial plaques which are worth a visit - and we know that many people like to research their family history.
Some of the original record books for Trellech Church from about 1763 to modern day are held in the Parish and can be viewed in the Church by prior appointment. However there are no certificate copies that old held at the Church.( , possibly these are at Ebbw Vale see below). There are some more modern certificates, Its worth asking
For Penalt again there are records only from 1765 for marriages and 1870 for baptisms, presumably the rest is also at Ebbw Vale.
There is a charge for this of £20 for up to 3 hours.
To make an appointment please contact Kay Bowen on 01600 860595.
